To ensure employment and promotion of minorities, women, individuals with disabilities, and veterans, the 小蝌蚪视频 has established an Affirmative Action Plan. This is a written plan which outlines the Laboratory鈥檚 good-faith efforts to obtain specific, measurable results of its hiring and promoting activities so that under-represented groups are identified and included. The federal government currently defines minorities as Hispanic or Latino, Black or African American, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, Asian, American Indian or Alaska Native, or Two or More Races. Veteran status includes disabled veterans, recently separated veterans, other protected veterans, and Armed Forces service medal veterans. The plan is reviewed annually and updated as necessary to reflect changes in employment conditions and government regulations.

The MBL invites applicants for employment to self-identify as minorities or females at the time of application as well as at the start of employment.聽Identification will be kept confidential except when, in the case of reasonable accommodations, supervisors and safety personnel may need to be informed, or when government officials investigating compliance may ask to see MBL records. A summation of the data collected will be used in the annual veteran鈥檚 employment report and in MBL鈥檚 Affirmative Action Plan.

Self-identification information will not be used as the basis for any adverse employment decision. In addition, employees will not be subject to any adverse treatment should they decide not to complete the Self-ID form. The purpose of self-identification is to give employees the opportunity to identify their disability and/or veteran status so that they may be included in MBL鈥檚 Affirmative Action Plan for Qualified Individuals with Disabilities and Qualified Protected Veterans.
