The Josephine Bay Paul Center for Comparative Molecular Biology and Evolution is dedicated to the memory of Josephine Bay Paul (1900-1962), a leader in industry, education, and the arts in the middle decades of the twentieth century. 听As President of A. M. Kidder & Co., Josephine Bay Paul was the first woman to head a corporate member firm of the New York Stock Exchange. 听She was also chairman of the board and chief executive officer of American Export Lines.
